Commonwealth Games 2010 (CWG 2010) will be officially declared open by the Britain’s Prince Charles and Indian President Pratibha Devi Singh Patil on Sunday evening.
The 19th edition of CWG will have the higher participation of athletes. Around 6,700 entry is confirmed. The New Delhi Commonwealth Games participation has surpassed the Melbourne games (5,766).
The host country India has highest number of athletes in the game. It is expected that around 65, 000 spectators will witness the CWG opening ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi.
The Commonwealth Games 2010 (CWG tickets) can be booked from official website of CWG http://www.cwgdelhi2010.org/. However the CWG ticket booking link is not responding at this.
Sources said that CWG tickets have been already sold out but it is not yet confirmed. People are eagerly looking to book the ticket online but the link is down due to heavy traffic.
The two-hour long CWG opening ceremony will start at 7.00 pm in the evening. The athletes from 71 participating countries will parade with their national flag. Australia will be the first team to start the flag march and India will be the last (As per the alphabet letter). Beijing Olympic gold medalist Abhinav Bindra will be the flag bearer of India.
After the parade of athletes, a glittering ceremony will be preformed by artists to showcase the Indian culture.
